As the days, weeks, months and years progress, it seems all of us are getting busier and busier. As a result, we rarely have the time, as well as the inclination, to spend more than the bare minimum amount of time applying our makeup before we rush out the door.
And while there are numerous time-saving beauty fixes that can shave minutes off our beauty routine in the mornings, what most of us are really after is a makeup look that can be applied in less than five, which still leaves us looking polished and fresh.
And that’s exactly where author, CEO of Go-To Skincare and all-round beauty guru, Zoe Foster Blake comes in. In a recent Instagram story, Zoe shared the five-minute and five-product makeup look she turns to when she wants to fake a refreshed and awake appearance.
To begin with, Zoe uses a “glowy tinted moisturiser or BB cream to even out skin tone and give the illusion of [a] good diet/sleep.” Her top pick is NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser, however we also recommend Laura Mercier Oil Free Tinted Moisturiser or Garnier Skin Naturals Pure Active BB Cream.
Next, Zoe applies a non-creasy, creamy concealer under her eyes (her concealer of choice is Tarte Maracuja Creaseless Concealer), before using an angled brow pencil to “fill in, thicken and shape brows to frame [the] face and drop between 10-500 years off your age.” Zoe’s go-to is Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil, but we also like Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz and Charlotte Tilbury Brow Lift if you’re looking for an alternative.
For step four, Zoe says to “buff in some blush onto [the] fleshy bit of cheeks with a blush brush and OMG have you just been outside playing Frisbee or what?” And last but not least, “finish with a ludicrous bright lipstick. It’s imperative.”
TOP TIP: If you’re looking to cut down on time even more, make your products work harder for you by applying a few swipes of your lipstick to the apples of your cheeks and blend in with your fingers.
And there you have it: a beautiful, polished makeup look that can be perfected in under five minutes.
