If you're not on board with the '90s fashion revival, Zimmermann has your back. The local label's latest collection eschewed bike shorts and bucket hats for a heavy dose of '70s nostalgia, inspired by one of the era's cult Australian television soaps, Number 96.
Psychedelic paisley prints were splashed across flippy skirts, voluminous blouses and, most notably, hip-hugging patchwork pants—though the collection's fair share of waist-cinching silhouettes made it clear that opting into the low-rise look isn't the only way to channel a Zimmermann-girl aesthetic next season.
Bolstering the humble thong's high-fashion revival, Zimmermann's spin on the summer shoe took it to a whole other level—literally—thanks to the addition of '70s platform soles. Retro-sport twin-sets and bright hot pants offered another nod to the bygone era, while references to the "naughty and irreverent" Number 96 saw cut-outs deliver serious sex appeal to traditionally demure silhouettes.
