5 Things We Learned From Zimmermann's NYFW Show
For autumn/winter 2018, Zimmermann turned out a swoon-worthy collection that continued to evoke the Aussie label's signature femininity. But with equestrian-inspired accessories and sleek outerwear also in the mix, we're taking away some exciting new style lessons that we've broken down below.
1.Invest in leather
You've already got a moto jacket hanging in your wardrobe, but now it's time to try a leather trench coat, midi-dress or pants. Avoid Matrix vibes by opting for soft shades of tan, olive or cream.
2. Keep florals on high rotation
Zimmermann have long championed wearing blooms all year round, and this season that means juxtaposing botanical tops against wintery textiles like the aforementioned leather and trading floaty dresses for printed suits.
3. Don't give up on the Western trend
Cowboy culture continues to inform top designers and this was evident in the snakeskin boots and wide-brim hats that made their way down the runway.
4. Cinch everything with a statement belt (or belt bag)
The belt bag is also here to stay, but if you're not quite on board with the trending accessory an extra-wide belt proves just as effective.
5. Trade black for copper
Zimmermann want you to break away from black this winter. The shade hardly features throughout the range, but it doesn't matter because all we want to wear is this rich, earthy tone!
