The family of Zayn Malik are currently in mourning as his five-year-old cousin Arshiya Malik passed away after battling a brain tumour.
The former One Direction member's younger sister, Waliyha Malik took to Instagram to reveal the devastating news.
She uploaded a photo of Arshiya and captioned it: "Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un Rest is peace you beautiful princess, may Allah grant you the highest rank of jannah.
Arshiya's mother (Zayn's aunt) also took to social media to mourn the loss of her beloved daughter, writing:
"An angel wrote in the book of life my baby's date of birth, then whispered as she closed the book... 'Too beautiful for earth' R.I.P baby doll."
Arshiya had been battling the brain tumour for many years. In 2014, Zayn's cousin Aaroosa Malik said: "Doctors have given up on Arshiya, but she is still fighting brave like a soldier. Can everyone please pray for her and anyone out there with a medical background or any doctor who thinks they can help please get in touch if possible.... They operated on her twice."
Thoughts are with the Malik family at this tragic time.
