Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik confirmed that they have decided to break-up after two years together via separate statements shared to their social media accounts on March 14th.
Following the announcement, fans have noticed that Zayn has pressed the "unfollow" button on Gigi and her mum, Yolanda Hadid. Interestingly, the Hadids are still following the Pillowtalk singer.
While Gigi has stayed silent since the break-up her younger sister did share a cryptic instagram with the caption: "I'll be Right here."
Malik, 25, shared the news about the split with his followers on Twitter:
"Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship, and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend," Malik posted first on Twitter. "She has such an incredible soul. I’m grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at the time, we wish this news could have come from us first. We love you all. xZ"
Shortly, thereafter Gigi, 22, wrote:
"Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years .. not only in the relationship, but in life in general," she wrote. "I’m forever grateful for the love, time, and life lessons that Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever’s meant to be will always be. xG."
Considering it’s been over two months since they last appeared on each other’s social media, this relationship could have ended privately weeks ago without the public’s knowledge.
