Just take a look at her Instagram.
This is her daily mantra:
And this is her going to a spa and not feeling guilty about it, captioning the photo with: “Self care is not selfish! I have to keep reminding myself❤️❤️🙏🏿 “.
Of her new beauty ambassador announcement, Viola said, “The self affirming words of, ‘Because I’m worth it’ have always given me chill bumps. What a joy it will be to not just say them over and over again...but to spread the message of worth to women around the world. It is a gift.”
The 54-year-old actress has won an Academy Award, an Emmy Award and two Tony Awards, and is the first black actress to achieve the Triple Crown of Acting. Time magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2012 and 2017. She’s also about to play Michelle Obama in a series about influential First Ladies.
She is a force to be reckoned with, and she’s only just getting started.
“L’Oréal Paris is all about worthiness. I always felt like I needed to be skinny, I needed to be brighter-skinned, I had to have longer hair, I had to assimilate into that classic sort of American beauty standard, and now I reject all of it,” she said during a TV interview with TODAY.
“That’s the baton I’m passing through L’Oréal,” she says of her ambassadorship goals to inspire other women to identify their self-worth and find their own version of beauty.
"I see myself as a person who can be an instrument of change," Viola shared during a press conference. "There are so many obstacles and roadblocks that tell you you aren’t enough. We’re constantly bombarded by images in the media of perfection, and when we can’t achieve that perfection we crawl into the space of shame. If we’re not thin or so-called 'classically beautiful'. I have spent the greater portion of my life looking at so many images of women who did not see their worth. So, I mirrored their behavior until I hit a wall and realized that I lived half of my life like I didn’t have value."
Viola isn’t wasting any time sharing her empowering message. In an Instagram post, she shared a video where she says, “A woman’s potential is boundless. Only you can define your worth. We are worth it.”
The caption reads: “My revelation at 54 is this....’A girl should be two things, who and what she wants’.... Because...We Are #WorthIt! ❤️ #unstoppable #lorealparisfamily @lorealmakeup @lorealskin”
Already her message is resonating with other women.
“I love you. I can see and feel your self love, your sense of accomplishment as you filmed...your acceptance of the inspiration you are to us. Sooooo dope V!!!!🥰🥰🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾,” said one of her instagram followers.
“What an incredible anchor of strength and confidence to all kind of women, all around the world. You’re such a blessing. God bless you 😩🧡🙏🏼,” said another.
“😍 Love it, thank you for these empowering words.🔥🔥,” another exclaimed.
