The highly-anticipated 2017 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is just days away, but the lingerie company has run into trouble as they attempt to enter Shanghai. Four VS models have reportedly been denied entry to China.
Fashionista reports that Julia Belyakova, Kate Grigorieva and Irina Sharipova, all Russian citizens, have been denied visas, as has Ukraine model Dasha Khlystun.
The reliable fashion insider sourced their information from the Instagram account @VSModelSpain, which claimed to have confirmation as they shared screenshots from a conversation with one of the models. In a screenshot of a conversation with the model, Khylstun confirmed the heartbreaking news that she is no longer part of the show.
The reason for China's decision to deny visas to the models from these countries is not yet clear.
All four models have been seen sharing their journey to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show on Instagram. From their auditions, to their acceptance, to their gruelling workout regimes, the girls have been proudly posting about the entire experience... which makes the news all the more devastating. It's a shame to see all their hard work and passion go to waste.
"I will not stop freaking out how magical the whole experience was for me 🙈❤️❤️ I CAN NOT WAIT For the show !!! 👼🏼 " wrote Julia in October.
"After so long here i am, back with the most dreamed team. Words can't describe how happy i am," Irina wrote in August. "Even for short period i will dream again with you guys !!! But don't wake me up💥 SO excited & honored to be walking in the #VSFashionShow for the 2nd time!!!!"
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show will take place on November 20th, and air on November 28th.
