Two-stone engagement rings or 'toi et moi' rings (meaning you and me in French) has surprisingly become the most predicted choice for 2020. While the ring style may feel modern, it's actually a trend that can be dated back to as early as the 1700s - gaining popularity for representing two souls coming together in the unity of marriage.
Napoleon Bonaparte made the particular style famous when he proposed to Josephine de Beauharnais in 1796 with a sapphire and diamond ring. Model Emily Ratajkowski also received a similar design from husband Sebastian Bear-Mcclard, which has undeniably caused a surge in its popularity.
