UPDATE: Laura says that while she and Matty 'ran in the same circle' of friends, she never spoke to him, reports NewsCorp.
“We both live in similar areas and I had seen him before in public, but we had never exchanged a word,” Byrne said.
The Bachelor’s frontrunner Laura Byrne and Matty’s first meeting wasn’t at the cocktail party, according reports the lovebirds actually met months before.
Matty and Laura, who both live in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, actually locked eyes for the first time at a New Year’s Eve party.
“No-one was buying that Laura and Matty met for the first time at the mansion,” a source tells NW. “They were all too familiar from night one.
After hitting it off, the pair reportedly met up days later. “They hit up Icebergs in Bondi together with a friend each and spent some time in the sauna,” says the source.
"Could think of worse ways to spend the afternoon," the 31-year-old wrote on January 4, underneath a photo taken at Icebergs. Could this be just a coincidence?
