Gird your loins! The Bachelor Australia series starring your boy Matty J might be getting the spoiler treatment, and the episodes haven't even aired yet. Wait, even the advertisements for the series haven't hit the airwaves yet. How are we already at the 'spoiler' stage? Oh, that's right, paparazzi.
The upcoming series featuring Australia's favourite runner-up is due to air on Channel 10 in July, however filming already wrapped following the annual trip abroad for the ~secret location~ finale.
News.com.au reports that they have been approached about purchasing photos of the final two contestants as they visited the 'secret' spot: Santhiya Koh Yao Yai Resort & Spa in Thailand. The publication claims that "bidding is underway" for the package of information and photos, which also includes the names of the final four contestants and photos from the final four home visits.
“Media interest in The Bachelor Australia increases every year, which is testament to the enduring popularity of the show,” a spokesperson told the publication. “While we cannot comment on speculative information that paparazzi might be trying to sell, it is a shame that their aim each season is to spoil the experience for viewers.”
If the photos do surface online, this will mark the fourth time a finale has been spoiled by paparazzi and media outlets.
In 2015 photos of Sam Frost kissing Sasha Mielczarek in her hotel room were published on the Daily Mail just hours before the final episode, while Sam Wood was snapped arriving in Sydney after Snezana Markoski in the same year. In 2016 Richie Strahan and Alex Nation's suitcases were photographed being moved to the same apartment ahead of the finale.
Here's hoping the Channel 10 Gods can make it rain drama when the hit show returns later this year. Spoilers or no spoilers, everyone enjoys a love triangle featuring 20 women and a guy holding a bunch of roses.
