Fan-favourite Elly Miles is just the latest victim.
More proof that no good comes from talking ill of Abbie, Matt shocked everyone when he decided to send Elly home last night ahead of hometown visits.
While we understand Elly’s desire to warn Matt about Abbie, after failing the first time, she needed to let it go and focus on her own connection with Matt, including not wasting a great one-on-one date opportunity by talking about another girl.
Of the date, Matt said that he "wanted this to be a beautiful, romantic, intimate moment," however it ended up becoming "something completely different”.
Despite the Abbie drama clearly playing a part in her being sent home, Elly alluded to The Daily Telegraph that her and Matt’s different personalities may have also been to blame.
“We had a conversation where I opened up to him about fear of heartbreak and I said to him that I’m worried we’ll get to the end of this and it won’t be me because we’re too different. From that point, I noticed changes in his interactions with me a little bit. I felt him really take what I said on board.”
“I like bush blokes. I probably would have liked Nick (Cummins),” she also said. “I love a blokey bloke.”
While we’re still in shock that Elly got sent home before some of the other remaining contestants, life after the mansion is good for Elly. She’s far from heartbroken over the situation. "I think I narrowly missed out on getting my heart broken. If I made it to hometowns, it would have been a lot worse," she told 10 daily. "I forgot pretty quickly about everything and went overseas for nine weeks with my sister. I went to Europe and had a few flings!"
"It was almost surprising to me how quickly I accepted what had happened. I just moved on and got over it!" she said.
