With just three hopefuls left on this season of The Bachelor Australia, the rumours surrounding the final three - Chelsie McLeod, Helena Sauzier and Abbie Chatfield - seem to only be getting wilder. The latest theory that fans have concocted is behind Matt Agnew's begging for Helena Sauzier to stay.

On Thursday night's episode of the reality series, Helena was on the brink of leaving, after Matt had failed to recall key moments in their journey together (like, when she spoke French to him on their first meeting). Matt, in the end, was able to convince Helena to stay.
But, fans seem to think there is another heartbreaking reason as to why Matt begged Helena to stay, other than just genuinely wanting her to.
Fellow contestant Emma Roche told Matt during her hometown visit that she loved him, something he wasn't quite ready to hear.

"It's pretty obvious Matt fought for Helena to change her mind and stay so he could then still get rid of Emma after she told him she loved him," one person pointedly wrote to Twitter.
Another added, "Think Matt is glad Helena came back so he could actually dump Emma.
Speaking to TVWEEK following her elimination, Emma admitted that ultimately, she was glad she was eventually sent home. "At the end of the day you need to be realistic, there is always going to be someone being sent home," she said. "If he had kept me longer, knowing how he felt about me after hometowns, it would have taken me longer to get over the whole experience. So I'm happy I left when I did."
