"Hey Taylor. First of all i would like to apologise for posting that hurtful instagram post," Justin began. "At the time i thought it was funny but looking back it was distasteful and insensitive. I have to be honest though it was my caption and post that I screenshoted of scooter and Kanye that said “taylor swift what up” he didn't have anything to do with it and it wasn't even a part of the conversation in all actuality he was the person who told me not to joke like that.
"Scooter has had your back since the days you graciously let me open up for you.! As the years have passed we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences, hurts or frustrations. So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on scooter isn’t fair," he wrote.
Bieber's wife, Hailey Baldwin, was quick to comment underneath his photo, writing, “Gentleman,” to which Cara Delevingne quickly replied.
“Gentleman? @haileybieber @justinbieber you must be bored,” she commented. “I wish you spent less time sticking up for men and more time trying to understand women and respecting their valid reactions. As a married man, you should be lifting women up instead of tearing them down because you are threatened."
"I am not sure you actually understand what an apology is," Delevingne continued. "This issue that @taylorswift is talking out is far more than a picture and you know that. As you said, you haven't spoken to her in years which means you definitely don't understand the situation. I do. Take a step back and try and learn from this. We should all be on the same team. End of story"
Singer Demi Lovato also took to Instagram to defend Braun, writing: "I have dealt with bad people in this industry and Scooter is not one of them. He's a good man. Personally, I'm grateful he came into my life when he did. Please stop 'dragging' people or bullying them. There's enough hate in this world as it is."
Braun's wife, Yael, also jumped to her husband's defence, writing a lengthy Instagram post saying, among other things, "Girl, who are you to talk about bullying? The world has watched you collect and drop friends like wilted flowers."
Meanwhile Iggy Azaelea responded to claims Swift had been made aware of the deal in the days leading up to it. She wrote on Twitter, "Telling someone about a deal days before it's public means the deal was already done & she never had the opportunity to even make a bid to own her own work. These deals take months to negotiate in long form."
Kendall Jenner made her thoughts clear when she liked the Instagram post that Braun's wife Yael shared. The model is close to Hailey and Justin Bieber and, of course, her sister Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have had a long-standing feud with Swift. Jenner wasn't the only celebrity to like that Instagram - Jenna Dewan, Kacey Musgraves, and Braun's client Demi Lovato did too.
Katy Perry, who Swift recently reconciled with, took her side by signing a petition calling for Swift to re-record her first albums so she could own the new masters. "I stand with Taylor. Stay strong my friend," she commented.
