You know what we want? What we really, really want? A Spice Girls reunion. Every other 90s staple has scored a revival - Will & Grace, Hanson, bum bags - and we think it's high time we were treated to a girl power extravaganza in 2018. Fortunately, it seems we're getting one!
Variety reports that our beloved Spice Girls will be providing their voices for an animated film that champions girl power. According to the publication, Victoria Beckham, Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton, Melanie Chisholm and Geri Halliwell will all voice characters with a unique "girl power" that reflects their own personality.
A source told the publication that the girls are all "fired up about the idea," adding, "The Spice Girls are thinking big in terms of a franchise on a global scale. They’re the most successful girl group on the planet. It’s just what Marvel or Disney needs."
Just last month the fivesome hinted at future projects, saying in a statement: "We are always overwhelmed at how much interest there is across the whole world for the Spice Girls. The time now feels right to explore some incredible new opportunities together."
The girls' manager, Simon Fuller, declined to comment on the reports.
We, personally, can't WAIT to hear more about this project.
