The actor and social media star spills on her skincare regimen, expert-approved make-up hacks and the natural ingredient she swears by for a good hair day.
What is the best beauty tip you have learned from working with professional make-up artists?
“I’ve picked up a tonne of great tips from all the amazing make-up artists I’ve worked with over the years! Something I [learned] recently is to snip a strip of false lashes into a few pieces so it looks more natural when you apply it to your eyelid, and you don’t get that strip [effect] across. Also, apply heavy-duty hairspray to an eyebrow brush [and apply to brows] to keep them looking refreshed all day.”
You’re a fan of experimenting with beauty looks. When it comes to the red carpet, how do you decide on your approach?
“I [like to] let my outfit decide what type of glam I will end up doing that night. I always choose the outfit first and then, based on the colours or fabric I’m wearing, my make-up artist and I will choose.”
How would you describe your signature make-up look? “
I’d say my go-to make-up is fresh, dewy skin and a bronze smoky eye.”
You’re an ambassador for Bioré. Can you take us through your at-home skincare regimen?
“I have grown to love my skincare routine over the years. I wake up, wash and cleanse my face, put on SPF and I’m out the door. At night I will wash my face again, usually apply a face mask or pore strip, moisturise, then head to bed.”
What about your fitness routine—do you work out regularly?
“I travel too much to have a set workout schedule each day, but when I do have time to get workouts in, I go really hard. It’s not unusual for me to do a spin class, Pilates and then see a personal trainer all on a Sunday morning—I pack it in when I can. After a workout I feel strong, the blood is flowing, and even though I’m usually covered in sweat, I always feel like my best self.”
When you have downtime, what’s your favourite facial treatment to indulge in?
“I don’t have downtime too often, but when I do you can find me in bed, with a Bioré Self-Heating One Minute Mask on and Thai food on my lap watching documentaries on Netflix.”
You’re known for your luxuriant long hair. How do you keep it in such great condition?
“Coconut oil! I use it about once a week as a hair rinse or a hair mask. I picked up that trick years and years ago from my mum, who grew up in the Philippines using it.”
