Ruby Rose was appointed the face of Urban Decay earlier this year, having appeared in several campaigns for the US-based make-up brand in the past.
But some fans of the label are questioning her latest shoot to promote the Basquiat collaboration, which borrows its name from Haitian-Puerto Rican artist Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The reaction has been mixed to say the least, in that the brand has used a white model. Basquiat often spoke about and satirised the western, mainstream representation of black people.
He was also highly against consumerism, so lending his name to one of the largest brands in the world is probably not something he would do if he was still alive.
