There’s no denying that we’re grateful for everything our girl Ri Ri has done for the industry over the last few years. From releasing FENTY BEAUTY, an inclusive makeup range that carries an unprecedented 40 foundation and 50 concealer shades, to shutting down New York Fashion Week with the first-ever streamed runway show for SAVAGE X FENTY, and of course, being the first woman of colour to lead and create an original brand within LVMH. It’s been a momentous few years, that’s for sure.

But there’s still a part of us that is yearning for her next album – desperately yearning. It’s been three years, 10 months and 26 days since Rihanna released Anti, and now the popstar has admitted on social media that her latest album is actually ready, she just doesn’t want to release it yet!
How much longer do we have to live in such agony?
Sharing an adorable video of a dog bopping its head to House of Pain’s Jump Around, she captioned the post, "Update: me listening to R9 by myself and refusing to release it". The video, which has now received over 11 million views since it was first posted, has sent fans, fellow musicians and artists crazy. Moschino’s creative director, Jeremy Scott even commented on the post, writing “YOU TEASE” – we have to agree Ri Ri, we feel the same.
We do have some hope to hold on to. Late last year, Rihanna responded to a fan’s comment on Instagram, confirming that we would have her next album by the end of 2019. With only seven days left in the year, Rihanna’s going to have to move fast. We can tell this album is going to be a big one.
