This fashion season marks two designer debuts that industry insiders are anxiously awaiting—Hedi Slimane at Celine (no accent on the e), and Riccardo Tisci at Burberry. And while our first peek of Slimane for Celine came courtesy of Lady Gaga, Tisci has taken a new-gen approach to his big Burberry reveal, dropping a monogram-stamped T-shirt on Instagram overnight.
The black tee, which heroes the brand-new Burberry logo Tisci unveiled last month, is available to shop for just 24 hours via Instagram and WeChat. With only nine hours left and counting, the men's shirt is already sold out, but women's sizes are still available, and have been given the cool-girl stamp of approval by Lily James and Rihanna.
If you miss out on a tee this time around, don't sweat it; Tisci's complete collection for the iconic British label, known for it's trench coats and check prints, will hit the London Fashion Week runway on Monday September 17, with similar 24-hour product releases to follow.
Tisci was named Burberry's Chief Creative Officer back in March, taking over from Christopher Bailey. Many have speculated that the Italian designer, previously at the helm of Givenchy, is set to shake up the Brit brand's heritage codes. Watch this space.
