The raw photos reveal a striking plunging back with buttons lining the middle of the gown, designed, much like her Peter Pilotto wedding gown, to unveil her scars from her scoliosis surgery.
The blush-coloured dress, artfully created with the beauty of Windsor’s countryside in mind, features draped Biddle Sawyer silk that cascades romantically from the shoulders. As is royal custom, the gown features symbols of Eugenie’s heritage – the White Rose of York, for one, was delicately embroidered on the back and shoulders to piece together the striking cape.
We first appreciated the bold sophistication and sheer glamour behind Posen’s creation when high-fashion photographer and wedding lensman Alex Bramall snapped the couple ahead of their private evening dinner.
Capturing perfectly the couple’s post-wedding glow, it is likely we won’t see too many more photos of the custom gown from the reception – phones were understandably encouraged to be left at home.
