Princess Eugenie is engaged to Jack Brooksbank, Buckingham Palace confirmed this morning. The happy couple are set to be married this Autumn at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, following her cousin Prince Harry's wedding with Meghan Markle at the same location in May.
According to the statement, Jack proposed to Eugenie during a trip to Nicaragua earlier this month. Eugenie said it was a "complete surprise" when Jack got down on one knee in front of a volcano as the sun was setting in Nicaragua earlier this month.
The couple posed for official portraits at Buckingham Palace earlier today, showing off Eugenie's massive pink sapphire ring.
"We met when I was 20 and Jack was 24 and fell in love," Eugenie told BBC's The One Show. "We have the same passions and drive for life." With Jack adding it was "love at first sight".
"I love Eugenie so much and we are just so happy and over the moon for what is to come," he said.
"Granny actually knew right at the beginning [of the engagement]. She was very happy as was my grandfather," added Eugenie.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
