Princess Mia fans everywhere have been grasping for encouraging clues ever since the reveal. Hint number 1: Cabot also mentioned there was “interest” in a third film as a tribute to the late director Garry Marshall, who made the first two films before he passed away in 2016. And remember when Queen Julie Andrews talked about the same thing this past spring?
Hint number 2: “I would love to sit down and talk about [it], but I can’t. I’m not allowed.” Cabot said when pressed on the issue. Seems like she knows something…
Even the cast is as obsessed with the movies as we are. Last year, on the film’s anniversary, its star, Anne Hathaway, posted the below to her Instagram, accompanied by a sweet Princess Diaries gif.
“It's been 15 years (say it with me) SHUT UP!!!!! To all the fans who have loved Mia, Louie, Lily, Joe, Michael and, of course, Queen Clarisse, thank you from the bottom of my heart! And to Garry Marshall, thank you for making me a princess. I love you always my beloved friend and teacher, and I miss you every day xx”
So will there be a third movie? We are holding our breath!
