As the world eagerly awaits the arrival of one royal baby, Prince Louis is temporarily stealing the spotlight for his first birthday. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge shared three adorable new photos of the young royal in honour of his April 23 birthday.
Taken earlier this month by Kate Middleton, the images show the beaming young royal posing the grounds of the Cambridge's Anmer Hall in Norfolk, where the family have been based for Prince George and Princess Charlotte's school break.
"The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to share these new photographs of Prince Louis ahead of his first birthday tomorrow 🎈," the caption reads. "The photographs were taken earlier this month by The Duchess at their home in Norfolk."
Two photos show Louis in a red sweater with buttons on the shoulders over a bodysuit with a peter pan collar by Amaia paired with navy shorts and knee socks also by the kids brand, styles often worn by Prince George as well. The little royal also wears a blue sweater from Trotters featuring a puppy – recalling the striped whale sweater that George wore in the portraits released in honour of his third birthday in 2016.
The photographs don't vary too greatly from that of Prince George and Princess Charlotte on their first birthdays.
Royal fans last saw Prince Louis making his debut in the family’s Christmas card. The little prince looks directly at the camera while cuddled in Kate’s arms for the holiday portrait, taken in early fall at Anmer Hall.
