Ed Sheeran is apparently going to perform as the wedding singer at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's May 19th reception, and we could not be any more jealous of the wedding guests.
After the ceremony at St. George's Chapel in Windsor Castle, guests will be received at St. George's Hall for a large reception, before a smaller group of family and friends attend a second reception held by Prince Charles. Kensington Palace confirmed the itinerary for the evening in a statement earlier this week, though they are yet to comment on the wedding singer.
Entertainment Tonight reports that the royal has asked Ed to perform, with the publication's royal correspondent Victoria Arbiter saying he'd be "perfect" for the job. Ed is friends with Harry's cousin Princess Beatrice, and has met several members of the royal family.
"Ed Sheeran has yet to confirm but I'm not sure you turn down Prince Harry and Meghan Markle," she notes. "People love his romantic love songs so he's an ideal candidate for that first dance and I think Harry has always enjoyed Ed Sheeran."
If Ed accepts, Arbiter claims it will be to perform at Prince Charles' second, more intimate reception later in the evening.
"This is where everyone's really going to get down, this is for close friends and family," she says. "It's going to be hosted by Prince Charles and so I think if Ed Sheeran is going to be performing at any of them, it's going to be the evening reception."
Oh, to be a fly on the wall at that wedding!
