The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s personal wedding photographer has revealed that he only had three minutes to shoot one of the weddings most iconic photos.
Alexi Lubomirski, the photographer who also took the couples official engagement pictures, said that the beautiful shot of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle relaxed on the stairs happened when the tired bride “slumped” onto the groom in exhaustion.
Lubomirski told the BBC the shoot was “one of those magical moments”.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding portraits have been called the most intimate royal wedding pictures ever seen, and have a much more candid and relaxed approach than others.
In his interview, Lubomirski said, “It was just one of those magical moments when you’re a photographer and everything falls into place. I said ‘just before you go in, sit on those stairs.’
“And she just slumped between his legs and there was this moment where they were just laughing because they were exhausted and thinking finally it’s all over. It was one of these beautiful moments.”
The beautiful photo of the newlyweds will remain one of the most memorable pictures from their special day.
