Of Course Lifetime Is Making A Prince Harry and Meghan Markle TV Movie
Gird your loins: Lifetime is turning Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's relationship into a glorious TV Movie. What, you thought there was just going to be one of the biggest Royal Weddings™ of all time and there wouldn't be a tacky movie made in it's honour? Not on your life.
Harry & Meghan: The Royal Love Story has been confirmed by Lifetime head of programming Liz Gateley and will likely air ahead of the royal wedding in May, reports Deadline. For those who don't remember, Lifetime also produced a Prince William and Kate Middleton love story ahead of their wedding in 2011 entitled: William & Kate: The Movie.
The sappy flick will chronicle "the courtship and love story between a beloved prince and his new fiancée," and is sure to join the ranks of other trash movies such as A Christmas Prince and The Holiday Engagement that are beloved for being so-bad-it's-good.
Harry & Meghan will also explore hot-topics within their relationship, including Meghan's acting career and divorce. We envision a dramatic scene in which Meghan has some kind of emotional rollercoaster because a snooty royal says she's "not right" for the throne, and there's a 10/10 chance someone British will use "the American" as a nasty dig à la What A Girl Wants.
The film is in good hands with director Menhaj Huda, the woman behind salacious TV series The Royals, though casting for the project is still underway. We suppose it would be too dramatic to wish for Meghan to play herself but, still, we can dream.
