Nice attempt at backpedalling Badgley, but you’ve been caught out. The interviewer thought so to, and continued to press the Gossip Girl actor on the next season, managing to squeeze a "Technically I can’t… I mean, like, unofficially." Seems pretty convincing to us.
In an interview with Cosmopolitan UK, You’s executive producer Sera Gamble revealed that she already has plans in mind for the next part of Joe’s story, although she’s yet to discuss any of the details.
"Absolutely it could come back for Season 3... First of all, it's up to the powers that be. We hope that a lot of people will watch the show and that it gets to continue," Gamble said.
She continued, "I will say that we have an idea for season three that is SO exciting that people talk about it in the [writer's] room everyday. So my fingers are crossed... I'll just say, I hope we get the chance to keep making the show."
Even more convincingly, author Caroline Kepnes, whose books form the basis of the series, has confirmed that she is in the process of writing a third AND fourth book. Her Twitter bio cleverly states, "Yes, I’m writing a third Joe book. And a fourth. No, I’m not done yet."
It looks like we’re in for the long run here guys. Looks like we’ll be seeing more of Joe Goldberg before we know it.
