Define the waist of your midi dress with a trusty moto jacket. You could also apply this winning combo with a denim jacket or sweater. Adding sneakers and mini bag will mean you’ll be ready for anything the day brings.
Denim is having a major moment, so much so that the fashion set are into the infamous ‘Canadian Tuxedo’. Opt for oversized denim shirts or jackets to tuck into high waisted jeans for 2018’s take on double denim.
We can take two notes from this polished yet easy-to-recreate look:
1. Wear your coat over a suit to combat winter chills.
2. Do dress tonally. To make layering easy, keep the colour scheme to a minimum.
We’ve been a fan of the dress and jean combo for a while; however it can be harder than it looks to put together. Our tips? Pick a dress that cinches in at the waist and can be unbuttoned to expose more of your jeans. To keep the focus on the dress; wear the look back with a classic tee and kitten heels.
The trench coat is an all-time fashion favourite. We loved this styling trick spotted on the streets of Paris to give this classic a stylish twist. For a clever take on layering; drape your scarf over your trench, and secure by belting over the top.
Don’t put your favourite summer dresses away as the temperature drops. Layer them over a turtleneck and opaque tights for maximum impact (and warmth). Match your knit with a colour from your dress to keep the look cohesive.
