When you're shooting one of the world's most iconic love stories, it's inevitable that you might catch feelings. Apparently, while filming The Notebook Gosling and McAdams struggled to work together. The pair eventually warmed to each other and ended up dating for three years.

There must be something about filming a Nicolas Sparks novel that inspires couples. Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth met while working on The Last Song, a movie that sparked their decade long on-again, off-again romance. Ryder and Depp dated for four years during the '90s and starred together in the 1990 film, Edward Scissorhands. The makings of any modern romance, right?

Hawn and Russell originally met on the 1968 set of The One and Only, Genuine Original Family Band, but wouldn't date for over a decade later. The pair starred in the 1987 comedy Overboard, and have pretty much been inseparable ever since - although, they've never married.

Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt were the Hollywood power couple of the 1990s, having met on the set of film Se7en. The couple got engaged but eventually split in 1997. “I remember when Brad Pitt and I broke up, it was on the cover of the New York Post and there was no one outside my house. Before their relationship took a turn for the worst, the two played love interests while on set of The Rum Diary in 2009. They didn't start dating until seven years later, tying the knot in 2014. In June 2015 they smuggled their dogs into Australia and in 2016 the pair finally split while ensuing a lengthy, public divorce trial. They are still in the midst of their divorce proceedings.

On-screen couple Serena Van Der Woodsen and Dan Humphrey (Lonely Boy) were actually an off-screen couple too. Lively and Badgley met on the set of Gossip Girl in 2007 and dated for three years. They broke up in 2010 and still had to play love interests on the popular series.

There must be something about a vampire drama that draws couples together. During the first Twilight film, Stewart was in a relationship with someone else before breaking things off to be with Pattinson. In July 2012, she was photographed having an affair with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders, which led to the couple's breakup. They had a brief reunion in 2013, before calling things off for good.
