On top of the quintessential Aussie way the pair embarked on their journey, is their quintessential Aussie designs. "When we started Nice Martin, we couldn’t find garments that were really us. We both have very masculine elements to the way we dress and love natural fibre fabrics, but we couldn’t find the mix. At the time there was a huge gap in the market for this and it’s what launched us. Our ‘Loren Jumpsuit’ encompassed everything about what we wanted Nice Martin to be and people loved it."
Jess and Jody's approach to classic and easy basics caught the attention of women everywhere, an ethos they still heavily stick by today. "Each piece is designed with a focus of mixing feminine and masculine elements. We always hope that the NM girl feels everything from comfortable to confident and carefree. But most of all they feel like themselves, they want to keep wearing each piece because it makes them feel good."
It's not all easy-going when it comes to starting a business in the global fashion market, as the Nice Martin girls experienced first-hand. The ability to overcome those obstacles, though, are what led them to become the brand their customers have come to love. "Making mistakes and still being able to keep going is super hard in this industry and as our 4th birthday comes up this December, it feels good to know exactly what works for us and what doesn’t. What we have planned for Nice Martin next year feels really, really good."
