H&M has a long history of epic fashion collaborations with luxury design brands, bringing the very definition of high-low style to the masses. From Erdem's dreamy floral creations to Isabel Marant's Parisian chic pieces, the Swedish retailer is the medium between upscale panache and everyday ease. And, their latest collaboration is no exception to the rule.
On Saturday it was announced that H&M and Italian fashion house Moschino are linking up for a new line, called Moschino [tv] H&M. Moschino's creative director, Jeremy Scott, will create womenswear and menswear pieces, plus accessories, that are inclusive to all of his fans.
“I no longer do my collaboration line with Adidas, and sadly, until now, I haven’t really had another way to service the fandom,” Scott told Vogue. “This collaboration makes me feel like I’m able to give something again. Lots of young people love my clothes . . . and we make phone cases and little things like that, but in order to have a lewk, I love that this is now something that will be affordable.”
The pieces will be just as eccentric as Moschino's signature unconventional approach to fashion, with a sequin parka dress, cropped puffer jackets, and a hockey jersey with a train in lieu of traditional evening wear.
Additionally, Scott's Insta-famous biker jacket bag from a few years ago will be reconfigured for H&M. “We’re doing the tiniest biker bag ever. I love it. It could be a necklace. It could just hold a lighter, or nothing," he said. "I tried it for Moschino, but we didn’t produce it, and I was like, ‘She’s the one that gets to come back.'"
With prices ranging from $25 to $300, something tells us we'll be snatching up just about everything when the collection drops in November 2018.
