There’s no denying where Miranda Kerr found inspiration for her recent hair colour update. Taking to Instagram on Thursday, the Australian supermodel showed off a new look which—thanks to Friends star Jennifer Aniston—was once the must-have hair colour trend the 1990’s.
Miranda swapped her full-head of honey highlights for an brunette base punctuated by caramel face-framing highlights.
Any fan of the hit sitcom Friends would remember the iconic blonde strands that bordered Jennifer Anniston’s character, Rachel Green’s face. They might also remember requesting the same look from their hairdresser!
Face-framing highlights, or ‘streaks’ as they were known in '90s, is a technique which concentrates on the foil placement on the perimeter bordering the face.
These days the technique has evolved into a subtler look, with complementary highlights scattered throughout the hair to diffuse the intensity of lightness just at the face.
