Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth have made their separation Instagram official. Yesterday, Miley posted a video of herself dancing with her new boyfriend, Cody Simpson, in the Nashville home she married Liam in less than a year ago, after inviting him to her brother's wedding. In the video, the pair are dancing in front of the fireplace where she and Liam had posed for photos on their wedding night and fans also noticed the dance they are doing is the exact same as what Liam and Miley did at the Met Gala.
Liam responded by quietly unfollowing his ex-wife on the social media platform. Shortly afterwards, Miley unfollowed Liam back and also unfollowed her ex-girlfriend Kaitlynn Carter, who, the same day, publicly released an essay about their relationship.
Kaitlynn, who Miley was linked to amid confirmation of her separation from Liam Hemsworth, penned an essay for ELLE US in which she went into detail about the pair's relationship, saying, "it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her."
"This past July, I went on vacation with a female friend; the next thing I knew, I was in love with her," Carter wrote at the beginning of the op-ed. "Until that trip, it had never crossed my mind that I was even capable of loving a woman the way I loved her. But after reflecting on my romantic history, I realized that I've never really had a 'type.'"
Though Miley hasn't said anything in response to the essay, her quiet unfollow of her former friend says it all.
