Let any doubts about Meghan Markle fitting into the royal family be gone now, because she is holding her own at one of the largest royal events of the entire year.
The newlywed joined her husband Prince Harry and grandmother-in-law Queen Elizabeth for the 2018 Trooping the Colour, the annual celebration of the queen's birthday, on Saturday. The date also happens to double as the biggest royal photo-op of the year, even surpassing Harry and Meghan's own wedding, since extended family is included.
It's about as large-scaled as you would expect, but nevertheless, Markle looked stress-free through it all.
For the important occasion, Markle chose to break royal protocol (yet again), wearing an off-the-shoulder blush dress by Carolina Herrera. The dress featured button details and complemented her Philip Treacy hat.
This event is only the first of many for the new royal.
Markle's got another big milestone coming up, when she will travel solo with Queen Elizabeth by train to Chester for royal business. Going to an event like this is an honor that not even her husband has been given—as far as we know, neither Prince Harry nor Prince William or Kate Middleton have ever traveled to an official royal visit using the queen's train.
What a week of meaningful steps for Markle as the Duchess of Sussex. We have a feeling these "firsts" will just keep coming.
