Meghan Markle's Half-Sister Gives Scathing Tell-All Interview, But Says She's Never Felt "Bitter"
Meghan Markle's family drama has been dragged into the spotlight once more, led as usual by her 51-year-old half-sister Samantha Grant. Along with giving interviews, Grant is releasing a book entitled The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister.
Grant - who now says she wants to go by Samantha Markle - has given a tell-all interview with A Current Affair, in which she claims the princess-to-be has abandoned their father Tom Markle, who filed for bankruptcy in 2016 and now lives in Mexico. Which is a surprising claim, considering Tom will be there to walk Meghan down the aisle at her wedding on May 19th in St. George's Chapel.
"I have a right to speak and I have a right to help people understand how things really are,” Samantha told ACA, before explaining how their father helped to launch Megan’s career. “I don’t think he feels like she owes him, but that is how I see it."
She continued on to slam the Ralph & Russo couture gown that Meghan wore for her engagement shoot: "Honestly what she could spend in a weekend would greatly help Dad. If you can afford $75,000 for a dress, you can afford $75,000 to help your dad."
Samantha said she still hopes for an invitation to the royal wedding and says she was “always very proud” of her younger sister. “I never felt bitter or jealous,” she continued.
Meghan's father Tom had two paternal children, Thomas Markle Jr. and Samantha, before he met and married her mother Doria Loyce Ragland. The couple divorced when she was six years old, though the former Suits star maintains a good relationship with both her parents. Both parents are attending the royal wedding, and Tom will be walking her down the aisle and giving a speech at the reception.
Samantha, however, is still not attending the wedding and has admitted to having been disconnected from Meghan for at least three years, long before the star was involved with Prince Harry. After the latest stint, we don't imagine she'll be there on the big day in May.
