In light of Meghan Markle's strained relationship with her father Thomas Markle, it's only fitting that the Duchess has developed a close bond to her father-in-law Prince Charles. Especially since, the Prince of Wales was on hand to walk the 36-year-old down the aisle at her wedding on May 19th, when her own father couldn't attend.
So, it comes as no surprise that the 69-year-old royal has his own quirky nickname for Meghan, according to reports he affectionately calls her “Tungsten.”
The DailyMail reports that Charles chose the nickname because Tungsten is a type of metal that is "strong and unbending."
"Prince Charles admires Meghan for her strength and the backbone she gives Harry, who needs a tungsten-type figure in his life as he can be a bit of a softy," a source told the outlet. Adding, "it's become a term of endearment.”
