Meghan Markle Just Wore $200 Jeans By This Ethical Australian Label
If you've been keeping track of Meghan Markle's outfit choices during her royal tour of Australia, you might have noticed that the Duchess has been shining a light on local designers. For her trip to Dubbo, Markle was at it again, this time wearing a pair of black skinny jeans by Aussie label Outland Denim.
And while the classic jeans look undeniably chic teamed with a white shirt and grey checked blazer, they also deliver a subtle nod to the Duchess' commitment to humanitarianism.
Established in 2011 to help provide vulnerable women with employment and training opportunities, Outland Denim employs Cambodian cutters, seamstresses and pattern makers, paying these women living wages, which grants them the agency to escape exploitation and slavery.
“I cannot think of a more suitable person to carry the Outland Denim brand. The Duchess’ advocacy for issues of social justice and women’s rights completely aligns with the work that we do. We are absolutely thrilled that she chose to wear Outland Denim on this tour,” said Outland Denim founder James Bartle.
