Married At First Sight's Ashley Irvin and Troy Delmege mutually decided to end their 'marriage' in last night's episode of the hit dating show. While it came as a surprise to literally no one that the pair would part ways, especially considering photos of Troy kissing Carly Alman surfaced several weeks ago, it is surprising to hear both sides in the fall-out since filming wrapped up.
One opinion we're paying very close attention to today is that of Ashley's sister, Summer Irvin, who has spoken to Nova's Fitzy and Wippa about the "fake" husband her sister had to deal with.
"He thinks everyone loves him and that they should love him, that he's the complete package," she told the radio hosts this morning. She added that, though the reports that Troy is a 'professional actor' are not true, he may as well be: "he's so fake - he's putting on an act."
"Within five minutes [of meeting him] I was like 'No, no way' ... Everyone thinks he's this nice guy, but he's not — he's really not. He's fooling everyone and I feel bad my sister got dragged along," she continued.
Summer also addressed the photos of Troy and Carly, saying that on tonight's episode viewers will see their relationship begin.
"Is [tonight's episode] the one where Troy and Carly profess their love for each other?" radio host Fitzy asked.
"It's all out now. Troy is like Dean 2.0," Summer shot back. "Ashley's really good mates with everyone from the show, she's probably seen 90 per cent of them ... bar Carly."
She continued on to say: "I don’t think Ashley's bitter, it's just like ... 'Have some class, just wait a couple of weeks until after the show.' There's only one reason you'd do that [pose for paparazzi in the park], and it's to draw attention to yourself, for more publicity ... so keep it in your pants."
To be fair, Ashley really does seems unfazed by the whole thing. The MAFS star took to Instagram this morning to wish Troy well and thank her fans.
"Wow. What a ride! Thank you so much @marriedau for this life changing experience!" she wrote alongside a photo from her final day with Troy. "I can definitely say I have learnt a lot along the way, especially about myself. I don’t have a bad thing to say about Troy, I wish we could have made it work, but you just can’t force things. I want to say a massive Thank you for all the support I have received, it has literally held me together over these last few weeks! As for me, unfortunately I didn’t meet the man of my dreams, but at least I put myself out there and hopefully I will meet my soulmate soon!"
We can't wait to see tonight's explosive dinner party, where all the couples will be forced into one room together to re-watch all of this season's most controversial moments - the ones they know about and the ones they don't yet know about.
Considering this season has basically been more Wife Swap than Married At First Sight, it's bound to be highly controversial and filled with tantrums. Oh, joy!
