She might be nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress at the 2018 Oscars, but that doesn't mean Margot Robbie's career has been all smooth sailing. At one point, her family even wanted her to quit the business!
In a recent interview with British Vogue, she admitted her family wasn't very happy when she decided to become an actor.
"My family has no connection to the entertainment industry whatsoever, so when I started acting, everyone was like, 'That's fun, but when are you going to actually get a real job?'" she explained. "And that went on for years."
She went on to reveal that, even now when she's in major films like I, Tonya and Suicide Squad, her family aren't all that impressed by her job.
"They're impressed for like five seconds," she said. "And then they're, 'So anyway, the dog threw up today.'"
Even if Margot's family aren't overwhelmed by her impressive career, they are incredibly proud of her.
The actress was at an after-party for the Sydney premiere of I, Tonya when she found out about her Oscar nomination. A photo with her younger brother, Cameron Robbie, sums up how excited their whole family was.
"There’s nothing I could say that articulates how proud I am of this one," he wrote on Instagram.
