"When your children are little you feel more 'mummy,'" she explained. "When they are teenagers you start to remember yourself as a teenager. You see them going to punk clubs and you wonder why you can't go. I'm in this fun moment where I'm rediscovering myself."
Jolie just dropped off her eldest son, Maddox Jolie-Pitt, to college in South Korea last month. While there, she was filmed saying she was "trying not to cry" as he celebrated the major milestone.
This week, 18-year-old Maddox was asked about his relationship with his father. He told the reporter in question, “I don’t know about that [or] what’s happening” when asked whether Pitt planned to visit him at school.
Jolie-Pitt, whose alleged in-flight altercation with Brad led to an investigation from the Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services in 2016, then fielded a question on his current relationship with his adoptive father.
"Well, whatever happens, happens," he answered.
