The world was momentarily ~hashtag blessed~ last week, when an Instagram account dedicated to rating Onion Rings in different restaurants emerged.
Why was this account so interesting? Well, it appeared to be ran by muso and dramatic hand movements connoisseur, Lorde.
Fans had 'receipts' by way of the fact that Lorde followed the very small account, and her reviewed restaurants appeared to match the singer's location at the time of posting.
The account quickly went viral as the fan theory gained attention, which eventually led to it being deleted. The question remained, was Lorde the star behind @onionringsworldwide? Turns out, yep!
“It started as a funny thing to do with my friends while on tour and I was like, this is a fun pastime,” she revealed to Jimmy Fallon.
So why did she delete it?
“I just felt like everyone knows about it now and I didn’t want it to be seen as something I’m doing to crave fame.
“Then people were going to be throwing onion rings at me while on tour,” she continued.
