It’s proving difficult for even the most committed of celebrity fans to keep up to date with Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson’s whirlwind romance. One moment they’re smooching over açaí bowls and the next time we scroll through our Instagram feed, they’ve moved in together.

In the latest twist in events, Liam Hemsworth has reportedly called out his former wife’s new beau on social media.

When the A-list couple announced their separation in August, the actor penned a touching Instagram post in tribute to the songstress.

“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” he wrote. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”

But it seems a lot can happen in three months and Hemsworth is seemingly not impressed with Cyrus’ newfound romance.

According to Now To Love, the 29-year-old took to Facebook to criticise Simpson for adding him on the social media platform.

The status update shared under the username ‘Li Hemsworth’ reads: “When your ex’s boyfriend tries to add you, nah mate I’m good. This sh*t is hilarious!”

Two weeks after Cyrus and Kaitlynn Carter ended their highly-publicised relationship, the 26-year-old was photographed enjoying a series of dates with Simpson.

She first met the Australian singer several years ago and their friendship only recently blossomed into romance.

Back in December 2015, Simpson opened up about Cyrus in an interview with GQ Australia: “Miley is one of my best friends and she helps with some of that transitional stuff – trying to escape your childhood. She’s super open-minded and I’m working on becoming more like that.”

Fast-forward seven years and he recently revealed that the couple are “very, very happy”.

Though it seems Hemsworth has moved on too, as he has been spotted kissing actress Maddison Brown during a date in New York.

Stay tuned for updates.
