The Met Gala is often the most celebrity-filled night of the year, hosting a slew of A list stars who ascend the iconic steps for a night of fashion. The 2019 gala, hosted at the Metropolitan Museum of Art hosted the likes of celeb Alex Rodriguez, who has now spilt the beans on his table from inside the event.
In his interview with Sports Illustrated, the former New York Yankee reveals that his table-mate Kylie Jenner spent the night talking about her "billionaire" status.
“We had a great table,” A-Rod said. "We had Kylie [Jenner] and Kendall [Jenner]. Kylie was talking about Instagram and her lipstick, and how rich she is.”
He adds that he also sat with Idris Elba and his new wife Sabrina Dhowre, Donatella Versace and of course his fiancée Jennifer Lopez who wore a glittering Versace beaded fringe gown to the event. No doubt Kylie Jenner talked to the rest of her table about her beauty company and subsequent fortune.
In March, the Kylie Cosmetics founder surpassed Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg as the world's youngest self-made billionaire, according to Forbes' annual list. The 21-year-old got her start as a teenager starring on her family's hit reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
“I didn’t expect anything. I did not foresee the future,” Jenner told Forbes at the time. “But [the recognition] feels really good. That’s a nice pat on the back.”
The youngest Kardashian-Jenner has now surpassed the earnings of her famous siblings (and momager) - Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian, Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Kendall Jenner) and Kanye West.
Jenner also racks up a significant income from product endorsements on social media. Overall, the businesswoman credits her booming success to the internet: “It’s the power of social media,” Jenner said. “I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything.”
