From statement earrings to stacking rings, our penchant for fashion jewellery is still sky high, so stumbling across an affordable label that hits the sweet spot between wearable and ‘Where did you get that?’ is naturally a dream come true. Founded by Doone Roisin just last year, Kincs has already caught the attention of It girls such as Ally May Carey and Whitney Valverde, who are fans of the brand’s vintage-inspired gold chains, natural pearls and all-round sparkly aesthetic.
Fun fact: Kincs is the Hungarian word for treasure, and we guarantee you’ll treasure these pieces for years to come. To see for yourself, keep reading for our interview with the woman behind the brand as she talks trends, inspiration, and her Kincs dream girl.
When did your obsession with sparkle begin?
I’ve always been sparkle obsessed, since I was a little girl. Ask anyone that knows me what my favourite thing is and they’d probably point you in the direction of glitter!
What motivated you to launch Kincs?
Kincs started by accident, actually. At the time I was building a tech platform with my fiancé, and going through that whole process I realised that I really wanted to create something [that allowed me to] be in direct conversation with women and use my skill set and strengths to my advantage.
How would you describe the Kincs girl?
The Kincs girl is fun and cheeky. She wants to shine bright and be part of the conversation. She doesn’t take herself too seriously—I think she’s probably a reflection of how I see myself.
What treasures inspire your designs?
I’m very lucky in that I spend a lot of time exploring new cities all over the world, and I often pick up treasures along the way that give me inspiration for Kincs; beads and trinkets, quirky keepsakes, gem stones, shells… anything that sparkles.
What’s been your best selling piece so far?
A yummy pair of pearl earrings called Juicy Fruits (below); they’re just the right balance [between] statement and everyday. Girls everywhere absolutely love them!
You sell quite a few cute pearl pieces—how would you recommend wearing them in a way that feels fresh?
I am all about the more is more vibe—pearls are so fun right now and I love stacking my arm up with a mix of pearl bracelets, beaded bracelets and gold bangles.
What other jewellery trends are big right now?
We’re seeing such a big resurgence of nostalgic and vintage jewellery at the moment, which I absolutely adore! There’s something very precious about jewellery with history and that was the inspiration behind our current collection, Grandma’s Treasure Box.
Which celeb would you love to see wearing Kincs next?
Hailey Beiber (below), 100 per cent. I love her! She’s my Kincs goals dream girl.
