Justin Theroux took a social media break for most of February, during which time he announced his split from his wife of two years, Jennifer Aniston. The actor has broken his silence today, sharing an adorable post with Pitbull puppies to promote awareness of the animal shelter Austin Pets Alive!
The actor became involved with the charity while filming The Leftovers in Texas, and donated $10,000 to Austin Pets Alive after winning a game on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last year.
"Texas!!! Another very inspiring visit with the incredible people and pups @austinpetsalive," he wrote on Instagram. "I cannot understand how they do what they do, day after day, so consistently and lovingly to save so many dogs and cats. I HIGHLY recommend going in and getting your nose bit by a toothless baby pitbull. Thes two aren’t yet ready to go, but when they are go get em..."
This marks the 46-year-old star's first foray back into public life since the split.
The couple shared the news of their separation in a joint statement to AAP.
“Normally we would do this privately, but given that the gossip industry cannot resist an opportunity to speculate and invent, we wanted to convey the truth directly,” said the statement released by longtime Aniston publicist Stephen Huvane. “Whatever else is printed about us that is not directly from us, is someone else’s fictional narrative. Above all, we are determined to maintain the deep respect and love that we have for one another.”
