“He started off as a typical sweet, Canadian teen. He was such a great kid, honestly super sweet and very polite and nice to everyone around him. Having this huge amount of fame completely changed him,” they told People. “He had access to anything and everything and was surrounded by people who just said ‘Yes'."
“He’s emotional and struggles a lot with the idea of fame, being followed, having his every move stalked by fans, cameras in his face. It all sets him off and he often feels like everyone is out to get him."
Justin and new wife Hailey recently opened up in a joint interview for Vogue US.
“I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed,” he said.
"The thing is, marriage is very hard," Hailey told the publication. "That is the sentence you should lead with. It’s really effing hard." Hailey admits to feeling lonely and homesick during the first weeks of the couple's marriage, but admits to 'praying it out.'
"I prayed to feel peace about the decision, and that’s where I landed,” she explains. “I love him very much. I have loved him for a long time.”
