"Them has quite a few cousins who've all gotten married and had children, but I think I'm the only one within the family who isn't Greek," she says.
The ring was designed by Nadia Neuman from Mondial. “I’ve always loved that Jess is authentic about things that matter," Neuman said of working with the singer. "She’s sweet, friendly and warm. She doesn’t seem too self-conscious or take herself too seriously. As such, I had always wanted to meet and work with her because I like doing business with like-minded people."
The ring also features a butterfly motif. “I have always loved butterflies because they are both beautiful and fragile. They represent transformation, progression and growth. And while I don’t know Jess’ interpretation of butterflies exactly, I know they have always meant a lot to her and generally people who feel an affinity towards butterflies do so for those reasons."
With five top 10 albums, 15 top 20 singles, four ARIA-accredited platinum-selling albums and two ARIA awards under her belt, Jess is currently preparing to release her fourth studio album, HILDA. Her short-term plan - once she's marketed her album and filmed some music videos, of course - is to watch movies. Mauboy even hinted she was open to the idea of honeymooning in a cinema.
