Jessica Gomes is celebrating a major milestone–this year will mark her fifth as an ambassador for David Jones.
Now based in Los Angeles, Jess is back in Sydney for the department store's highlighly anticipated autumn / winter collections launch, which also stars Aussie Victoria's Secret model Victoria Lee and Jordan Barrett.
The 33-year-old sat down with InStyle Australia backstage in Sydney, revealing her pre-show ritual, everyday uniform and skincare must haves.
InStyle: How do you prepare for the runway?
Jess: "I get a lot of sleep. A dip in the ocean and I get an early night. I need as much rest as possible since today is one of the biggest days. I get messages and facials and just try to keep myself as relaxed as possible."
InStyle: What are the key trends we can expect to see this autumn / winter?
Jess: "Power suiting is big this season and one of my favourite trends. Rebecca Vallance and Camilla & Marc have great options. Antique florals is also really big this season. Luxe classics, cashmere sweaters, comfortable pieces in amazing fabrics."
InStyle: Do you have an everyday uniform?
Jess: "Jeans, a t-shirt and a blazer, a pair of flats or boots. I like to keep it quite effortless and casual."
InStyle: Congratulations on launching your own skin care range, Equal beauty, what was your inspiration?
"I just wanted to tell my story and I thought the perfect way would be through beauty. I wanted to create a brand that is inclusive for everybody.
"I felt there was a need for more travel beauty products in the market and because I travel a lot I felt I needed a regime I could do on a flight. There are only five products so it’s all very simple. It’s all about hydration and protection."
InStyle: What's your skin care regimen?
Jess: "It’s very simple, clean my face, hydrate with a serum or mask and protect with sunscreen or a spray."
InStyle: How do you stay in shape?
Jess: "When I'm home in L.A. and not travelling I love to do classes like Body By Simone or I'll lock a time in with my trainer and we'll do weights or boxing. I like to change it up to keep myself motivated and excited."
