"I found it quite exciting," she says of the experience. "I think if you're daunted by something, it might not necessarily be helpful for you creatively. You sort of create blockages for yourself if you feel overwhelmed. I just jumped in and again felt so supported that it made my job very easy."
Adding that working with one of Australia's most accomplished drama directors, Jessica Hobbs, was a career highlight. "Jess is one of my favourite directors in the world and she was my director on The Crown," she adds. "Having a chance to work with her, and outside of Australia, is pretty wonderful. She's just incredible."
She adds of her on-screen husband, "The cast, Ben Daniels is my lovely soon to be husband."
As for what it's like being home, Jess says: "I always feel really torn between Sydney and London, because I lived here years ago, but there's a pretty big pull to Sydney at the moment. The work is incredible, it's just such a great city. I fell in love with it again."
De Gouw is now, with The Crown currently airing on Netflix, starring in up and coming projects including The Drovers Wife (Legend of Molly Johnson, Gretel & Hansel and Vienna Blood.
