"Jlo spice," Appleton captioned the post, along with the chili pepper emoji. "Couldn't fit the full buns in lol — swipe to c [sic] the full look. #dreamcoat"
This hairstyle might be a completely new one for J.Lo, but it's a look that Grande has worn often. That being said, the similarity between the styles might be more than a coincidence. Appleton has worked with Grande in the past, specifically around the singer's release of her Sweetener album.
Along with the platinum low ponytail she wore on the album cover, Appleton helped Grande with the evolution of her signature high ponytail by reinventing the style with lavender streaks, metal hair rings, and yes, space buns.
Whether or not Grande was the real inspiration for J.Lo's unexpected hairstyle. We gotta say, the Y2K hairstyle looks damn good on her.
