Jennifer Lawrence ventured to Brooklyn on Wednesday evening for what some may call an awkward occasion: presenting her ex with an award. But for Hollywood’s golden girl, it was no big thing. She worked the room like a pro, wowing the crowd in a look that beats any “revenge dress” we’ve ever seen—it's more of an “I’m mature enough to maintain friendships with my ex-boyfriends and also I’m hot as hell” dress. That’s a thing, right?
The actress spent hump day rubbing shoulders with mother! director and former flame Darren Aronofsky at the BAM Gala, where he was being honored. The duo dated for over a year ahead of the release of their collaboration, splitting in November 2017 after the psychological horror film was deemed a critical flop.
That’s not to say these exes aren’t friendly, though. Lawrence and Aronofsky were spotted on a walk in N.Y.C. a month following their break up, and Jen has even said she thinks she and Darren will work together again.
Lawrence wore a structured white silk tea-length gown to the soiree, pairing the sexy dress with strappy silver sandals and simple jewelry, her signature smoky eye the true winner of the evening.
J.Law introduced Aronofsky as her “very good friend” when presenting his award, stopping to pose for cordial photos together backstage.
And there, we have living proof not all breakups have to end with blocking your ex on all social media platforms—or, you know, blacklisting them in Hollywood.
